Tech-Rails' "Toy Skateboard" Next to a Full-sized Onewheel XR

The Cutest Onewheel

What do you buy the onewheeler who has everything? Another onewheel, of course. Today, we’re taking a look at the “Toy Skateboard” from Matthew Shumaker and Tech-Rails. It’s a seven-inch model version of the Onewheel+ XR, which comes out to roughly 1:4 scale. This desktop sized XR has working lights, CNC rails, a rubber tire, and is able to be fully disassembled.

The Toy Skateboard comes packaged with a small screwdriver that is used to break down the mini-board. The quality is top notch. My only real complaint is that the footpad screws are located beneath the grip tape, so that it has to be peeled back before the board can be fully taken apart.

Here are the full specs from the product listing:

7 inches long.
CNC machined aluminum frame rails.
Machined aluminum wheel.
Ball bearings.
Aluminum axle.
Aluminum axle carriers.
Molded rubber tire.
Plastic skid plates.
Wood foot pads with real grip tape.
Fully screwed together assembly (no glue).
Comes fully assembled.
Working nose and tail lights.

This miniature onewheel was a joy to photograph. Take a look at the collection below and when you get done, head over to the Tech-Rails website to pick up your own. It will cost you $105 currently, but I would say the extremely high production value justifies the price.

Yo! I am a onewheel nerd based in Pensacola, FL. Given the choice, I’d rather be hitting some singletrack than riding on pavement. I also enjoy 3D printing, woodworking, and hiking.
